Wheel nut!
« on: March 16, 2017, 01:38:20 PM »
Well THAT'S never happened before:

Seized wheel nut forced me to cut off a two run tire....sigh.....

Blew a hex pin and had this happen the last time I ran, was a weird day for sure! It appears that I was still running the stock hex pins from 3 years ago as they were all those hollow pins...All new solid pins and fresh hexes all around...ready for Sunday...

Bring your game Bob....

That nut was nuts! I have not had that happen before...

BTW, I borrowed someone's wheel wrench trying to wrestle this off and it ended up in my toolbox...Very sorry to whomever it was! It might have been you Nolan?

Or Gord perhaps?

Cool, look forward to it.
Ya too bad, acetone will soften the rubber to much. Grind the rim away? Does boiling them mess up the rubber?

Baking wrecks the wheels I know, when I dye my wheels, I almost bring it to a boil   and doesn't damage the wheelsbut does it swell or soften the tires at all like acetone does.

With regards to acetone, are you speaking about soaking or just using the fumes that make the wheels soft? I'm planning on using acetone fumes, and not soaking the wheels/tires.

best way cut foam out drop tim in acetone
let sit over night  plactic container with lid
voila perfect reusable wheels
if trying to save rubber and foam then use
fumes
baking and boiling suck dont work leaves way to much work and stinks
home out

Actually I didn't say anything about saving the tire :) Many thanks for all the suggestions though! I've been pretty lucky with acetone over the years. Never tried the baking, Gerry B. said it stinks up the house lol
